Endometriosis
Endometriosis is a common condition where tissue similar to the lining of the womb starts to grow in other places, such as the ovaries, fallopian tubes, around the bladder or bowel. Symptoms can vary and can include,
- Period pain that isn’t relieved with painkillers.
- Heavy Periods
- Pelvic pain, this may occur around the time of your period.
- Pain during, after sex.
- It is one of the main causes of infertility.
Chinese Medicine views Endometriosis as a stagnation of blood in the uterus. Blood isn’t shed as it should do with each menstrual cycle. This leads to congealing and clotting of the blood in the uterus. As the natural flow is further hindered by this clotting, the tissue finds its way to areas it shouldn’t as mentioned above causing the problem.
A complete assessment will be carried out to see what is causing the blood stagnation. I will also speak to you about diet, lifestyle choices. I will also complete an Acugraph assessment on each visit to monitor the progress.
