Stress

Control stress with acupuncture

In reality, stress affects men and women from all walks and ages of life. Quite often, the result of exposure to prolonged negative stress, leads to issues such as pain or as a growing body of evidence reports, mental health disorders such as anxiety, depression, panic attacks, palpitations, worrying, insomnia, physical health disorders such as Migraines/Headaches, vertigo, Irritable Bowel and much more. Complicated with this is the stigma associated with mental health disorders. While people can and do recover from these periods in their lives, the road to recovery and management of stress can be more complex than often portrayed. Diverse strategies are needed to deal with this growing complaint within Ireland, and Acupuncture is one such strategy. Our system of medicine has written about how the human body behaves for over five thousands of years. Such extensive knowledge, tried, practiced and still evolving today, understands the fundamental necessity of responding to stress in a positive manner. Treatment plans therefore encompass the mental, emotional and physical aspects of the self. Specific acupuncture points calm the mind down, encourage peaceful sleep and relax the diaphragm to help breathing to mention but a few. Traditionally, acupuncture excelled in prevention of ill health and stress, is very often recognised as one of the main precursors to health problems. (Irish Heart Foundation). If we can treat to help prevent illness, then it stands to reason we can treat stress and its manifestations, be it mentally, physically or emotionally. It may be that societies and the demands of life have changed, but the human body has not.

At Duohealth, many of the above are treated using a multi-disciplined approach using Traditional Chinese practises such as Acupuncture, Patent natural herbs, Hypnotherapy to name a few. For more information please contact us on 086 3529164 or info@duohealth.ie

Irritable Bowel Syndrome (Ibs)

Irritable Bowel Syndrome (Ibs) tends to be a catch all for all types of Abdominal pain which do not have an explanation. Ibs is characterised by altered bowel habits, abdominal pain & discomfort e.g Constipation, Diarrhoea, Cramps, Bloating etc.

Case History/Testimonial

My name is Jeremiah and have suffered with Irritable Bowel for the last 10 years. I suffered with desperate constipation normally followed with bouts of Diarrhoea. The cramps prior to Diarrhoea were so bad, I needed to take time off work and was also effecting my personal life. I also suffered with bad breath which effected my confidence levels as I was always aware of it. I was taking prescription tablets for the 10 years which were containing the Irritable Bowel but were not curing it. I had good and bad weeks. The tablets also gave me acid reflux. A friend told me about David. David gave me an assessment on Acugraph, he explained the graph in detail and told me where I had to be on the graph to resolve the Ibs. I received 7 Acupuncture treatments and some Herbs. After 3 sessions, my problems had improved significantly, by the 7th treatment, my bowel movements are back to normal and my bad breath is a thing of the past. That was 6 months ago and I have seen David twice since then as a precaution. I also claimed back the treatments against my Insurance Company so it was a win, win.
